What we know is broken or limited

Last checked: · Android closed-test build 0.124.1 (167)

Voxstrum is a one-person company in closed testing on Google Play. We don't yet run automated uptime monitoring, so rather than show you a green light we can't back up, this page lists what we know. If the app can't reach our servers, you'll see a message inside the app telling you so — and if something looks down to you, please tell us using the details at the bottom.

In the current test build

Purchases are switched off Test build
Every Upgrade button in the test build ends in "Purchase failed". That's expected: paid plans aren't on sale until Voxstrum launches, and the test build has no billing connection. Testers get Multi Platinum through a key instead (Profile → Promo & beta access). Please don't try to buy anything yet.
Signing in without "Remember me" signs you out when the app fully closes Open
"Remember me" is off by default. If you leave it off, the next cold start signs you out and clears this device's local copy of your streak, practice reminders and tuner calibration. Your practice sessions and scores are stored on your account; it's the device-side streak, reminders and unsaved Studio drafts that go. Tick Remember me when you sign in to avoid this. We plan to make it the default.
Most lessons have no video yet Content
Five beginner lessons (guitar, piano and bass) include a video. Every other lesson shows its written explanation in the Watch & listen step, then the interactive board. All 236 lessons have the full board, Record step and feedback.
Studio header can clip the "Back to Learn" label Cosmetic
On some phone widths the Learn / Create toggle overlaps the back label in the Studio header, so it reads "Back to Lear". The button still works.
"Open Voxstrum" button on the email-confirmation page did nothing Fixed on the web, 19 Oct 2026
The page you land on after tapping a verification link had a button that tried to open the app through a link the app doesn't yet register. It now tells you to switch back to the app instead. Your email was confirmed either way.

Limits that are by design (for now)

No iPhone version By design
Voxstrum is Android-only during the closed test. There's no iOS build and no date for one. iPhone owners can leave an email on the home page and we'll write if and when that changes.
Drum takes get coaching, not scores By design
The four scores (timing, pitch, accuracy, consistency) are measured from pitched notes. Drums have no pitch to measure, so a drum take is logged and gets a coaching note but no scores. The same applies to any take where no notes were detected or the microphone was refused.
Tuning wizard covers strings and piano only By design
The step-by-step tuning wizard works for guitar, bass, ukulele and violin, and piano gets a note map. There is no tuning tool yet for drums, voice, saxophone, trumpet or flute, so the Tools tile is hidden for those instruments.
Studio recordings are kept for 24 hours By design
Takes, overdubs and dictation clips you record in Studio are deleted 24 hours after upload. Export a WAV in that window if you want to keep the audio. Your lyrics, chords and sheet music stay with the song.
